Storm Studios won Best Visual Effects (BVE) 2009 for feature film with it's work on Max Manus.
Storm Studios made the photo-realistic boat Donau for several shots in the film, and several matte paintings that converted buildings and geographical locations back to their World War II condition.
The jury was represented by Martin Gant, Morten Skallerud, Eric Hanson and Dayne Cowan. Hanson and Cowan have worked on productions such as, "The Day After Tomorrow" and "Batman Begins".
The jury announced: "Very cool, highly skillful and intricate work. Convincing mattes, and excellent lighting and texturing. The scenery has very good depth and atmosphere. And lots of those extra elements that make them believable".
